Finding the right ways to reach your customers is easy when you have so many options to choose from. Text, graphics, videos, apps: all of these provide customized ways of getting your messages in front of the right people at the right time. Let’s take a look at each type.

Text Only
Text only advertising is similar to an organic search result. You get a headline, two lines of text, and a URL. These ads show up at the top of a Google search results page when users search for keywords and phrases that are aligned with your ads. When targeted appropriately, text only ads are simple, effective, and inexpensive.

Display Ads
Advertising on the Google Display Network gives you access to a variety of destinations and formats to match. From website banner ads to Gmail ads, your reach is expanded far beyond simple search results. 

You can also opt for a text-only ad that is similar to a standard search ad, but have it show up on websites, Gmail, YouTube, and everywhere else the Display Network has access to. Here are a few different formats you can use on the Display Network:
  • Responsive Ads. These ads are designed to fit virtually any ad space available by automatically adjusting size, appearance, and format. You can create a single ad that is text-only for the tightest spaces, and then transforms to an image ad for large spaces.

  • Image Ads. Choose from a static image, interactive graphics, or animated gif and Flash images. You can reach customers on all websites that partner with Google.

  • Expanded Text Ads. Google is calling these the “next generation” of their standard text ad. With added fields for more detail and mobile optimization, this option is available for Search and Display Network advertising.
Video Ads
It’s no secret that people respond to videos more than text. With more than 300 hours of video content uploaded every minute, YouTube generates billions of views every day. Video advertising on YouTube requires a bit more effort upfront as creating a professional video is out of the hands of most casual users. However, the potential for return is also better than average.

App Ads
If you want your app promoted to iOS or Android users on the Google network, AdWords has you covered! The setup process for app advertising is super simple, and you’ll gain access to the Google Play and YouTube markets along with Google Search. The app advertising network allows for the same customized targeting, plus Google will help by applying its own filters to be sure your ads are seen by those most likely to take action.
